ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CONDUCT AND LIABILITY POLICIES
College conduct and liability policies follow students and faculty off-campus and abroad.  As a condition for travel, students sign conduct and liability forms.  Faculty with questions about application and enforcement of college conduct policies and about liability obligations and protection should contact the Director for Global Learning.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION
Participants are normally Concordia College students who pay the comprehensive fees for their particular program.  Tri-College University students may participate in the seminar with the consent of the leader and the Director for Global Learning. Tri-College students are required to pay full Concordia College tuition for May Programs.

NARRATIVE REPORT
Upon completion of the program, leaders are expected to submit a narrative report to Global Learning with comments as needed on all elements of the program and complete a Qualtrics survey.  These reports are essential for proper documentation and constructive planning to improve upon programs. Reports should include
  • a brief overview of the program
  • academic and travel preparation
  • important academic and cultural experiences of the course
  • possible changes for next time
  • evaluation of air and land travel services
  • evaluation of the performance of Global Learning staff
  • a general assessment of the program
  • an accounting of budgeted and unbudgeted funds with explanation and justification as needed

REQUIRED HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING
Consistent with state and federal law and Concordia’s commitment to due care and diligence concerning risk management, students are required to attend one 60-minute informational session led by Global Learning staff prior to program departure.  This session covers college policy for risk reduction and information gathering.  It addresses the protections and benefits students receive while studying away as well as expectations for responsible conduct.  Students will have multiple opportunities to attend this required session.
